The PERSONAL ECOLOGY PROFILE has been developed over the past 4 years by Simon Walker during a research project at Oxford University.

Whilst training for the Anglican ministry in 1995 Simon began work on a model of personhood built upon relationships. Working initially in the fields of philosophy and theology, he pubished papers on the the nature of personal change and the role of metaphorical language.

Simon developed these ideas further through experiential work with individuals, communites and small teams in a large local church in Oxfordshire, England from 1997. He worked with stories, metaphors and visual processes to enable cognitive change and built a cohesive psychological model for these processes.

The early part of his doctoral work in 1998 was on the integration of these disciplines into a single, coherent process. The PEP is the result. Drawing from the fields of social and cultural psychology, visual art, cognition theory, theology and philosophy, it represents a highly advanced and sophisticated model for personal transformation.

Simon's vision in creating the PEP was to articulate a vision of human relationships founded upon Christian theology.

Since 2000, with increasing application in the educational, leadership and coaching spheres, Simon has refined the PEP using the internet as a powerful, interactive means of enabling people to engage with life-change. As technology advances, further applications are planned. New reports and profiles, all built upon the single psychological platform of the PEP are also being developed.

Over the years, numerous academics have been involved supporting and supervising the project's research.
